Product Information

MK 045-S Master Synthetic Thread Sealant services temperatures to >500°F (260°C) and pressures to 10,000 psi. It is made with PTFE which is unaffected by acids, oils, caustics, aviation gasoline, and common solvents. MK 045-S may be used as a thread sealant on brass, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel, as well as conventional steel threads. MK 045-S is synthetic based, offering extreme pressure and anti-fretting characteristics with a wider temperature range than most hydrocarbon base lubricants. MK 045-S keeps equipment in top operating condition with long-lasting protection to coated parts.

In general, MK 045-S can be applied to threaded connections, gaskets, gear boxes, gear and chain drive units, draw works, direct rotary drives, stop cocks, wellheads, swivel joints and universal joints, as a pump and valve packing, and as an additive to truck rear ends. MK 045-S can even be used to replace Teflon tape in the prevention of galling, seizing, and protection of the threads. MK 045-S is recommended for equipment that is operated over extended periods of time or where shut downs are prohibited. Equipment wear will be reduced by the unique plating and coating ability of MK 045-S, providing a residual lubrication film that eliminates metal-to-metal contact. This product is available in 16 oz, 454 gr pint cans.
